Description:
A collection of Chopin's complete mazurkas performed by Swedish pianist Peter Jablonsky. Following the popular first collection (NYCX-10345/ODE-1412), this second collection includes the late mazurkas from No. 30 to No. 51 and the six mazurkas from his last works. The mazurkas that Chopin, who began his career in Paris, had been the Polish composer's heart and soul throughout his life, can be savored at length. In particular, the mournful tone of No. 49, composed a few weeks before his death, is sure to catch the ear. The six posthumous works were written in Chopin's teens and early twenties. They are full of freshness and brilliance. In this album, too, Jablonsky expresses his empathy for Chopin, which he has nurtured through his years of performance experience, with his superb technique. He has contributed his own commentary to the booklet (co-authored, in English). The Japanese version comes with a Japanese translation of the original commentary. Naxos Japan
