Description:
A new version of the popular song "Canto Ostinato" recorded live at a concert in Amsterdam on October 1, 2023, with a wonderful realistic sound and over 40 seconds of audience applause. It is bound in a digipak. Canto Ostinato, written by Simeon ten Holt in 1976, offers 106 rhythmic elements that can be repeated one or more times, making it possible to play for an hour or more. It is also highly flexible in terms of instrumentation, and has been performed annually for almost half a century in a variety of solo and ensemble arrangements, as well as in two- and four-piano versions. In this album, the progression is impressive, with the organ supporting the monody-like melody line by the trumpet in a bass-like manner with a variety of sounds, interspersed with scenes in which the full power of the organ is used, approaching the "Canto Ostinato" from a completely different perspective than the lengthy piano version. The progression of the music is impressive.
